What: Drug Take Back
Where: Walmart (North and South) in Grand Island.
When: October 24th, 10 AM-2 PM
Why: The DEA’s Take Back Day events provide an opportunity for Americans to prevent drug addiction and overdose deaths. The National Prescription Drug Take Back Day addresses a crucial public safety and public health issue. According to the 2016 National Survey on Drug Use and Health, 6.2 million Americans misused controlled prescription drugs. The study shows that a majority of abused prescription drugs were obtained from family and friends, often from the home medicine cabinet.
What is accepted:
ANY PILL FORM MEDICATION including prescription and over the counter
What we cannot accept:
Liquids, Needles, Pressurized containers (inhalers)

This is entirely anonymous the medications are brought in and dropped in a box and you are free to walk away. We do not collect any information- the pills are disposed of in an incinerator, so no need to deidentify if you do not wish to take that time.
