Attached are the flyers for this April’s National Drug Take Back Day. If you are able/willing, please help us share this event with our community. 64% of those who use opioids do NOT have a prescription! What: Drug Take Back

Where: Super Saver in Grand Island (either location)

When: April 24th, 10 AM-2 PM

The DEA’s Take Back Day events provide an opportunity for Americans to prevent drug addiction and overdose deaths. The National Prescription Drug Take Back Day addresses a crucial public safety and public health issue. According to the 2016 National Survey on Drug Use and Health, 6.2 million Americans misused controlled prescription drugs. The study shows that a majority of abused prescription drugs were obtained from family and friends, often from the home medicine cabinet.

WHAT IS ACCEPTED:

ANY PILL FORM MEDICATION including prescription and over the counter

WHAT WE CANNOT ACCEPT:

Liquids, Needles, Pressurized containers (inhalers)

This is entirely anonymous the medications are brought in and dropped in a box and you are free to walk away. We do not collect any information- the pills are disposed of in an incinerator, so no need to deidentify if you do not wish to take that time.
