A Closer Look at the Infant/Toddler Environment Rating Scale (ITERS-3)

The Infant/Toddler Environment Rating Scale (ITERS-3) is an observation tool used in infant and toddler classrooms in center-based settings. The ITERS-3 assesses the quality of interactions between adults and infants and toddlers. Additionally, the ITERS-3 assesses the schedule and routines, materials, and spaces accessible to children. This four (4) hour training is a facilitated discussion to provide a deeper understanding of the items in the ITERS-3. It is highly recommended that participants have attended the Introduction to the ITERS-3/ECERS-3 training prior to attending the Closer Look at ITERS-3.
Participants must bring an ITERS-3 book to the training.

Participants will gain a better understanding of the items within each of the following subscales:
- Space and furnishings
- Personal care routines
- Language and books
- Activities
- Interaction
- Program Structure
