The Family Child Care Environment Rating Scale (FCCERS-R) is an observation tool used in the Family Child Care Home that assesses the quality of interactions between adults and children.  FCCERS-R also assesses the impact that the program’s schedule and routines, materials, and physical environment have on the quality of the program.  This four (4) hour virtual training is a facilitated discussion to provide a deeper understanding of the items in the FCCERS-R.  It is recommended that participants have previously attended the Introduction to the FCCERS-R training prior to the Closer Look at FCCERS-R.  Participants must have a FCCERS-R book available during the training.

Participants will gain a better understanding of the items within each of the following subscales:

• Space and furnishings
• Personal care routines
• Language and books
• Activities
• Interaction
• Program Structure
